I Want You To Feel Good This Summer

Jun 27, 2025

We talk a lot about wintering: that sacred, necessary pause in the colder months where we let ourselves slow down, turn inward, and rest.

But what if summer could be its own kind of healing season, too?

Not the kind filled with pressure to host the perfect BBQ, plan Pinterest-worthy vacations, look “hot” in every photo, or fill every weekend with back-to-back plans.

But, instead, a season that gives your body room to unwind. And your nervous system can actually exhale.

Here’s what no one talks about:
Your nervous system doesn’t only heal in silence and stillness. I think a lot of us are used to yoga retreats or meditation being the way to heal - so that's what we think we are supposed to be doing.
But it also heals through movement, getting sunlight, connecting with others, and doing things that light us up.

It heals when:

You let your bare feet touch the earth (esp sand at the beach, or real ground - real soil)

You laugh until your stomach hurts (it's probably been forever)

You move your body to music without worrying how you look (same)

You sip your iced coffee slowly, outside, without multitasking (when was the last time we savored that coffee?)

For high-achieving women especially, summer can become yet another pressure-cooker. Another season of overcommitment and performance masked as “fun.” We have to make it the best one for the kids because there are only 10 summers left until they graduate. Or we have to show off to our IG friends to show we are having the most fun.

But what if you let this summer be different?

What if you reclaimed summer as a nervous system healing season? Like we do in the winter with our "wintering".
☀️ One that’s about joy and presence, instead of perfection
☀️ One that supports your healing, not just your productivity

Ok - so I want you to pick one small ritual this week:
Choose something that brings you simple joy—and let that be enough.

Your favorite iced coffee
A phone-free walk around the block
Turning your face toward the sun for 30 seconds
Putting on a playlist that feels like a vacation
Saying “no” to one thing so you can say “yes” to rest

These are not small things. These are healing you.

Let this summer be the one where you don’t have to work so hard to try and find your joy—you just feel it.
